Obesity is characterized by excess body fat that accumulates in your body. It can lead to medical problems and reduce your life expectancy. Obesity leads to many diseases, particularly heart diseases and diabetes. One third of Americans are suffering from obesity. This shows that this condition is really becoming epidemic. The problem is particularly bothersome because of the increase in childhood obesity, as overweight children usually grow up to become obese adults. Individuals, who face negative emotions like frustration, sadness and boredom, use massive food indulgence to get comfort. If these emotions are frequent, they can make people indulge in bad eating habits. They end up gaining weight and turning obese. This is one of the main causes of obesity in many cases. The uncontrollable emotions of children can cause them to indulge in food and they can start eating more than they really should.


The main cause that leads to obesity is the overconsumption of food. People start to intake more calories than their body requires. Overeating turns out to be the root cause of obesity. We should maintain good eating habits so that we can maintain our health and stay fit.

The type of food that you prepare may be an important contributing factor to obesity. Research suggests that people suffer from digestive and metabolic disorders because of eating too much refined sugary foods, which are bad for health. The foods that contain Trans fat and carbohydrates and that are low in fiber content cause an increase in the body fat.

Lack of Physical Activity:

People who lead a sedentary lifestyle and avoid doing exercise or engaging in other physical activities turn obese. These people are the ones that need to control their calorie intake, as they are consuming more calories than they actually burn and so the fat stores up and they turn overweight and obese. So, one of the main causes of obesity seems to be reduced energy expenditure.

Obesity is a serious health issue that people are facing nowadays. Still, when you get to know the root cause of your obesity, then you will be successful in reducing your body weight and become healthy and fit for life.
